The name Jacob’s Well is inspired by the biblical well where Jesus met the Samaritan woman in John 4. At that well, Jesus offered more than water. He offered compassion, dignity, hope, and spiritual renewal to someone society often overlooked.

In many ways, that encounter reflects the heart of our mission.

Just as the biblical Jacob’s Well became a place of restoration and human connection, we believe our outreach should become a source of hope for people who are hurting, hungry, forgotten, or vulnerable. Whether through feeding outreaches, visits to hospitals and rehabilitation centers, support for paraplegics, or spiritual encouragement, our desire is to reflect the love of Christ in practical ways.

We believe that sometimes, the greatest ministry begins with something as simple as showing up for people, listening to them, feeding them, and reminding them that they are deeply loved by God.

In a world where hardship is becoming increasingly visible, compassion has never been more important. Across many parts of Nigeria, thousands of people struggle daily with hunger, homelessness, disability, loneliness, and lack of support. While these realities can feel overwhelming, meaningful change often begins with small, consistent acts of love.

This is the mission behind Jacob’s Well.

Based in Enugu, Jacob’s Well is a faith-driven outreach initiative under the Supper Table Ministry of the New Jerusalem City,  dedicated to serving vulnerable members of society through charity, compassion, and spiritual support. Our goal is simple but powerful: toiling for the needy for their eternal life through the yoke of charity.

We believe that true faith is not only preached, it is practiced.

Trinity Kitchen – Reaching the Streets With Food and Hope

One of our core outreaches – The Trinity Kitchen, focuses on street boys and vulnerable children living in difficult conditions. Every week, we take food to them, spend time with them, listen to them, and remind them that they are not forgotten.

Many of these children face hunger regularly. Some have little or no access to stable shelter, education, guidance, or emotional support. Beyond physical needs, many also struggle with rejection and isolation from society.

At Jacob’s Well, we believe every child deserves dignity, care, and hope.

In addition to feeding outreaches, we also encourage spiritual growth by helping unbaptized children who are willing and interested to receive baptism and guidance in the Christian faith. For us, charity is not only about meeting physical needs, it is also about restoring hope and reminding people of God’s love.

Friends Of Jesus (FoJ) – Supporting the Paraplegic Community

Our outreach also extends to paraplegics (Friends of Jesus – FoJ) and people living with disabilities. In many parts of Nigeria, individuals with disabilities face enormous challenges, including limited accessibility, financial hardship, social stigma, and inadequate support systems.

Every other week, we visit members of the paraplegic community, spend time with them, and whenever possible, provide food items and support materials.

These visits are more than acts of donation. They are moments of connection, encouragement, and shared humanity.

Sometimes, what people need most is not only assistance, but the reassurance that they are seen, valued, and remembered.

Visiting the Motherless, Rehabilitation Centers, Hospitals, and Elderly Homes

Jacob’s Well also reaches out to rehabilitation centers, hospitals, and homes for the elderly. These visits allow us to support people going through difficult seasons of life — whether illness, recovery, addiction, abandonment, or old age.

In rehabilitation centers, we encourage recovery through compassion and human connection. In hospitals, we offer support and prayers to patients and families. In elderly homes, we spend time with senior citizens who are often lonely or overlooked.

These experiences constantly remind us that kindness still matters.

Why This Work Matters

Nigeria continues to face growing economic challenges, rising food costs, and increasing poverty levels. Vulnerable communities are often the hardest hit. Many charitable organizations and community initiatives are working tirelessly to bridge the gap, but more support is still needed.

At Jacob’s Well, we understand that we cannot solve every problem alone. However, we believe that consistent acts of compassion can create meaningful change in individual lives and communities over time.

A meal may seem small to one person, but to another, it may be the first meal of the day.

A visit may seem ordinary, but to someone who feels forgotten, it can restore hope.

How You Can Help

The work of compassion is never done alone. Every outreach, food distribution, hospital visit, and support effort is made possible through the kindness of volunteers, donors, sponsors, and people who believe in giving back to society.

You can support Jacob’s Well by:

  • Sponsoring feeding outreaches
  • Donating food items or supplies
  • Partnering with us for community projects
  • Volunteering during outreach visits
  • Sharing our mission with others

Together, we can continue bringing hope, dignity, and practical support to vulnerable people across Enugu and beyond.

Because sometimes, the greatest way to serve God is by serving people.
